How we collect, use and protect your personal information. This policy is a starting template and should be reviewed by your own adviser before the site goes live.

PMU Electrical (Power Me Up Electrical), ABN 81 518 177 255, is a licensed electrical contractor based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
We only collect information we need in order to quote and carry out work, and to manage our business relationship with you.
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The address of the property where work is to be performed
- Details about the job, the property and any relevant history
- Photographs of the work area, before and after the work
- Billing information and payment records
- Website analytics data, such as pages viewed and general location
3. How we collect it
Directly from you, by phone, email, text message, our website enquiry form, or in person on site. Sometimes from third parties who have engaged us on your behalf, such as a builder, real estate agent or property manager.
4. Why we collect it
- To prepare and provide quotes
- To schedule and carry out electrical, solar, air conditioning and data work
- To issue invoices and manage payment
- To meet our legal, licensing and compliance obligations, including electrical safety certification
- To respond to enquiries and provide warranty support
- To keep records of work performed at a property
5. Photographs of completed work
We sometimes photograph completed work for our own records, for warranty purposes, and occasionally for our website or social media. We will not publish an identifiable image of your property or a photograph that includes personal information without your consent. If you would prefer we did not photograph your job for promotional use, simply tell us.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it where necessary with:
- Suppliers and manufacturers, to order materials or process warranty claims
- Subcontractors engaged to assist with your job
- Our accountant, bookkeeper and payment processor
- Electricity network operators, where required for solar or metering applications
- Regulators and insurers, where we are legally required or permitted to do so
7. Website, cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This data is generally aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.
8. Marketing
If you have engaged us or made an enquiry, we may occasionally contact you with information about our services or safety reminders. Every message includes a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by replying or emailing us.
9. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Records are kept for as long as necessary to meet our business, warranty, taxation and legal obligations, and are then securely destroyed or de-identified.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@pmuelectrical.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances we may decline a request, in which case we will explain why.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
